The Washington Shakespeare Festival

To Bring the Works of Shakespeare, the Renaissance & The Enlightenment to The People & Involve Them in those Works – with joy, respect and intelligence – at every opportunity.
The Washington Shakespeare Festival with any performance company, arts guild, non-profit or other public-spirited group to bring year-round experiential learning to its audiences. We use live performance, podcasts, video, VOIP, email and good old-fashioned USPS mail to communicate with our friends and fans from around the world. We encourage interaction with our audiences - we regard those who come see our productions as part OF our plays - they are the  crowds, the armies, the conscious of our plays.
We offer classes, workshops, readings, lessons and opportunities to learn new skills, from needlepoint to directing, props and costume construction to heraldry, music to the kitchen arts.

For everyone, there's a role here for you to play. Come join us.

Shakespeare Festival Gyula

The Gyula Castle Theatre operates in the court of the only brick fortress that has survived in Central Europe. Between end of June and 15th of August the guests are entertained with the best performances of historical and modern dramas, different forms of prosaic theatre, opera, operetta, ballet, mediaeval courtyard-music, jazz, blues, puppet-show, classic-, folk-music and folk-dance in the summer theatre. Not only the court of the fortress is turned into a theatre, but also programmes of great variety are available on the nearby lake-stage and on stages set up at different places in the town. Since 2005 there has been organized a two-week-long international Shakespeare Festival to which the best Hungarian and foreign Shakespeare performances are invited. Since 2005, in the renaissance castle-yard which has been restored, in the one and only flatland, Gothic, brick castle left intact in Central Europe, Gyula Castle Theatre organizes a Shakespeare Festival

Festival Theatre Ensemble

Festival Theatre Ensemble (FTE), founded in 1994 by Artistic Director Bruce W. De Les Dernier, is dedicated to the production of classical theatre and the creation of stage adaptations of classic novels, legends, and fairy tales. The initial three-show season was created largely for touring, much as in the sixteenth century, when acting troupes had no theaters of their own, but would travel from village to village, using whatever stage was available. Festival Theatre Ensemble has traveled far and wide to bring Shakespeare to various communities in northern and central California, finally settling into a permanent home in the historic town of Los Gatos with the founding of the Los Gatos Shakespeare Festival performing under the stars each summer in Oak Meadow Park. FTE is actively seeking indoor venues in the area to fulfill their goal of offering high quality theatre year-round.

In addition to its main-stage festival performances, Festival Theatre Ensemble performs interactive theatre for school-aged children with their productions of The Shakespeare Connection: Monsters and Clowns, tailored for grades K-6. These performances are available throughout the South Bay and Peninsula.
